Skill trainings for women underway in Wokha

Women are seen undergoing skill training on banana fibre extraction at Longsa village community hall on Tuesday.

DIMAPUR — With an objective to empower women through skill development, Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell in Wokha launched skill training programmes in two batches in Wokha town and Longsa village on Tuesday.

The skill development programmes were launched, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Wokha; Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Wokha; NSRLM, Wokha; and the Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre, Dimapur.

The skill training programmes were focused on banana fibre extraction and handicraft development, stated a DIPR report. It stated that a total of 65 women from Wokha town and Longsa village are attending the training programme.

Report stated that valuable insights and practical knowledge in banana fibre extraction and handicraft development will be imparted to the participants during the week-long training programme, fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment within the community.
