The 6th Inter-Department Badminton Tournament in Kohima is set to take place on September 11 and 12.

KOHIMA — The sixth edition of the Inter-Department Badminton Tournament, organised by the Inter-Department Badminton Club (IDBC) Kohima in collaboration with the Kohima district administration, is scheduled to be held on September 11 and 12 at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Stadium in Kohima.
Addressing a press conference at the DC Office in Kohima on Tuesday, IDBC President Sabou Yashu stated that the team categories include men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, 50-plus, legislators, ex-legislators, and retirees' doubles.
He stated that the club has been conducting the tournament since 2020 as an annual event and invited enthusiastic badminton players to participate.
Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Henok Buchem shared that the district administration agreed to collaborate with the club following a request, aiming to strengthen the spirit of cooperation and participation. He noted that the tournament brings together officers and staff from various departments to promote physical fitness, teamwork, camaraderie, and healthy competition among government employees.
IDBC General Secretary Kekhriesetuo Ziephrü stated that the main objective of the tournament is to provide a platform for government employees to take a break from their daily office routines, build camaraderie, and foster friendship.
The total prize money for the tournament is INR 1 lakh. The entry fee is INR 3,000 per team, and the last date for form submission is September 7.
