Sirhima Youth and Students’ Organisation organised a career guidance seminar in Medziphema to inspire students and guide them on future opportunities.

DIMAPUR — The Sirhima Youth and Students’ Organisation (SYSU) organised a one-day career guidance seminar for students of Class 7 and above, as well as other aspirants, at the Sunday School Chapel Hall, Sirhima, under Medziphema sub-division, on October 5.
The programme aimed to motivate young learners and provide insights into various educational and career opportunities. According to a DIPR report, altogether, more than 80 participants attended the seminar.
Delivering the first address, Lamhaomang Singson, information assistant, Department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), spoke on the importance of education and time management as a student. He emphasised that education is the key to opportunities and success, while effective time management helps students maintain balance and reduce stress.
Hoineichong Singson, technical assistant, Nagaland University, encouraged students to treat education as a privilege and highlighted the potential in pursuing studies and careers in the field of agriculture.

Nengngainem Singson, postal assistant, Department of Posts, provided an overview of the various examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and offered useful guidance on how to prepare for and approach such exams.
The final speaker, Seitinngam Singson, LDA, Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, briefed participants on the different state-level competitive examinations that students can explore after completing their education.
The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants engaged with the resource persons to gain further clarity on career choices and preparation strategies.
