Luke 12:15
The first two words of this sacred verse should be considered as a warning because it is actually a warning and our failure to give heed to it may result in judgment. If we watch not where we go, we may trip and fall into the drain. When we fall into the drain we may stink because of the filth but be warned that if we fall into the lake of fire, we will not only stink but we will be eaten by worms, and the worms will not die and neither will the sinners. After the day of the judgment. Sinners will experience a new beginning of eternal torment. The place of eternal torment refereed to here is hell, which is reserved for satan and all the lovers of sin. We seem to care more for our success than for the well being of our loved ones. The reason we are spiritually corrupted is because we are not rich towards God. It will be a tragedy to win all the riches of the world and yet forfeit our soul. To become rich at the expense of the poor becomes the philosophy of many fools. The material wealth we possess are all temporal and so is our life. The scripture says “ Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in him. For everything in the world- the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does- comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires will pass away but the man who does the will of God lives forever ( 1st John 2:15-17 ). As long as our eyes are focused on the temporal, our lives may also perish with it. The desires, the passion and the appetite for destruction adorns the lives of the wicked. The big houses we own and the luxury cars we possess will not be buried with us but they will be destroyed with time as the world ends. It is not a sin to be rich but it is a sin to be enslaved by it. The parable of the rich fool had been an eye opener for me because it made me know the things which I had never known before and made me see things which I had never seen before. Regarding the parable the scripture records “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself,, ‘ what shall I do I have no place to store my crops. Then he said, this is what I will do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grains and my goods. And I will say to myself,” You have plenty of good things aid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry. “ But God said to him, ‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? This is how it will be with any one who stores up things for himself but is not rich towards God ( Luke 12:16-21 ). This tragedy can befall anyone and I pray none of my readers will share in the sins of this rich man. The Word makes it clear that if we have friendship with the world we become what satan is. Riches and wealth are also gift from God and He desires the Rich men and women to contribute generously for His cause by helping churches, ministries and the poor alike. In our natural self we have a tendency to enjoy life and to delight in the acts of wickedness. In wickedness we had lived and if we die in sin we shall go to the place where sinners go. The need of the hour is that ever rich men and women should start accepting Christ that their eternal destiny with Christ can be secured. N one should boast of what he has, for when we die we get laid in a six feet coffin and get buried six feet below the ground. We have the choice to either live for Christ or be destroyed with satan. The writer of Hebrews states “ Just as man is destined to die once and after that to face judgment so Christ was sacrificed to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him ( Hebrews 9:27-28 ). Now is the day of salvation and anyone who accepts Christ now will be inducted into the Church of Christ. When Christ returns only the ones who has the mark of salvation will be saved and the rest shall be cast into the lake of fire. Invest not your wealth for yourselves but invest it for Christ. The moment you accept this message, you will be one step closer to the gate of salvation. The Lord grieves over you. Live by the Spirit. Accept the truth and be saved.
