
Since 90's from Nagaland won the title of the 49th KYF National Rock Contest 2023 while the 1st runners-up was adjudged to Dissected Soul from Darjeeling and 2nd runners-up was awarded to The Redeemer of Karbi Anglong.
The winning band was awarded with a cash prize of INR 1 lakh while the first and second runners-up were awarded with INR 80,000 and INR 50,000 respectively.

The rock contest was organised by Racket Tailed Musical Society in collaboration with Karbi Cultural Society (KCS).
10 bands from across the country were part of the contest where they were given three songs including one original and two covers.
The contest was judged by Victor Vanlalhruaia, guitarist of Magdalene; Jimmy Tisso; Paul Engti and Daniel Engti.
The vocalist of the winning band Since 90’s said, ‘coming long away from Dimapur after getting the last slot of the competition, it is a kind of blessing after listening to the announcement of our name, all thanks to God from the beginning to till the end’.
Best vocalist was awarded to Sarsonot Ronghang of The Redeemer, Best Bassist to Lalrinfela Tlau of Fredy's (Mizoram), Best Guitarist was awarded to Theja Nungsang of Since 90's and Best Drummer was adjudged to Sandep Hakmosa of Trivial (Karbi Anglong).
Apart from the contest, the promising band of northeast, Magdalene Mizoram won the hearts after performing their hits songs.
