Dimapur, Nov. 22 (EMN): United Cricket Club Jakhama and Diphu XI will clash in the final of the 10th Silver Cup organised by the youth department of Nepali Baptist Church, Kohima at the Jakhama local ground on Saturday, November 23 at 10:30 am.
The match will be followed by prize distribution ceremony at 1:30 pm with Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) vice president K Herato Sukhalu as the chief guest.
Meanwhile, playing the first semi-final match on Friday, November 22, United CC humbled defending champions Esa Warriors by six wickets.
Esa Warriors after winning the toss and electing to bat first set a competitive 118 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Ritupan contributed 31 runs while Roshan chipped in with 20 runs.
United CC bowlers Saurav Dey took four wickets while Amitava Das took two wickets.
Chasing a target of 119 runs to win, United CC Jakhama achieved the target in 18.2 overs losing four wickets.
Saurav Dey scored 47 runs while Rejaul Alam added 14 runs.
Esa Warriors bowler Hanilong took two wickets.
Saurav Dey of United CC was awarded man of the match.
Playing the second semi-final match, Diphu XI defeated Silver Backs by four wickets.
Having won the toss, Silver Backs elected to bat first and was bundled out for just 96 runs in 17.1 overs.
Raju of Diphu XI took four wickets and was supported by Vicky Hanse’s three wickets.
In reply, Diphu XI reached the target in 19. 1 overs losing six wickets with Rahul and Sarklimso scoring 27 and 21 runs respectively.
Gourab of Silver Backs took three wickets.
The man of the match was awarded to Raju.
