Kohima, March 29 (EMN): Esa Warriors and Diphu XI won their respective quarterfinal matches and moved into the semi-finals of the ongoing 9th edition of Silver Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by the youth department of Nepali Baptist Church Kohima at Jakhama local ground on Thursday.
In the first match between Esa Warriors and SilverBacks, two overs each were deducted from both the innings as disciplinary actions, the organisers informed. Warriors defeated SilverBacks by 54 runs.
Warriors elected to bat and set a target of 129 runs losing 8 wickets. Mosuf Sha contributed 36 runs and Phanindra, 21 runs. For SilverBacks, Thungchamo and Saurav claimed three wickets each.
Chasing the target, SilverBacks were all out for 74 runs in 16.2 overs. Rajesh, with 20 and Sonu with 14 runs were the highest scorers. Hanilong claimed four wickets for the Warriors. Mosuf was declared man of the match.
In the match, visitors Diphu XI defeated Royal Torniquets by 5 wickets. Tourniquets, electing to bat, set its opposition a target of 99. They were all out inside 16 overs. Mridul took 4 wickets for Diphu.
The chase lasted 18.1 overs as Dihpu rode on knocks of 32 and 23 runs by Rahul and Jintu to secure victory. Mridul was declared man of the match.
