Dimapur, August 6 : In what could have been a tragedy for a family in Longleng town, a 15-year old girl and a 12-year old boy, were saved from an inferno that broke out in their house in the wee hours at around 2 am on Saturday. Their house was at Medical Ward.
According to sources, the siblings were alone at the time of the incident. They were fast asleep when neighbors alerted them to the flame. Their parents were out of town at the time of the incident, it was reported.
The family’s house was razed to the ground. A gas cylinder was reported to have exploded. The cause of the fire and loss of property could not be ascertained at this time. It was noted that Longleng had not been receiving power since Friday evening.
Livestock were reportedly injured, sources added.
