Kohima, June 10 (EMN): Home minister Y Patton has urged the villagers of Niroyo village to refrain from advocating clanism and favouritism in politics but exercise their franchise democratically in the ensuing State general elections.
Inaugurating the Circular Road at Niroyo village, Y Patton decried the deeply rooted clan favouritism and villages bound politics, which he said is not the norms of democracy.
While pointing out that good governance is judge by the developmental strategies, the villagers were advised to choose their representatives wisely who can uphold and develop the society.Parliamentary secretary of agriculture, YM Yollow, in his brief speech, asserted that NPF is the only political party in the State with their manifesto on Naga political issue. He also assured that the party will not fail the dream of the Nagas and continue to pursue for early settlement.
Yollow exuded confidence that NPF party will win in the next general elections and urged the voters to vote for NPF to fulfil the aspirations of the Nagas.
Home Minister also inaugurated the village streetlight which was constructed under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) 2016-2017 and BRGF 2015-16 in Niroyo village.
