LUCKNOW — Skipper Shubman Gill and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan struck commanding centuries as India thrashed Afghanistan by 170 runs in the second ODI to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, here on Wednesday.
Gill produced a sublime 154 off 110 balls with 22 fours and two sixes, while Kishan blasted 125 from just 79 deliveries (14x4, 7x6) as India piled up a daunting 402 all out after Afghanistan opted to bowl.
The duo shared a blistering 224-run partnership for the second wicket off only 141 balls.
Rohit Sharma also provided a brisk start with 48 off 39 balls before being deceived by a Rashid Khan googly.
In reply, Afghanistan were bowled out for 232 in 44.3 overs despite a fighting 79 from Rahmat Shah. Arshdeep Singh (3/45 from 9 overs) and Gurnoor Brar (3/60) were the main wicket-takers for India, while Prince Yadav claimed 2/45 in 7.3 overs.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (41) and Sediqullah Atal (42) got starts but failed to convert them into substantial scores as India kept striking at regular intervals.
Having won the one-off Test against Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs, India had also emerged victorious in the opening ODI in Dharamsala by seven wickets.
The third and final ODI will be played in Chennai on Saturday.
India: 402 all out in 49.5 overs (Shubman Gill 154, Ishan Kishan 125; N Kharote 4/76).
Afghanistan: 232 all out in 44.3 overs (Rahmat Shah 79, Sediqullah Atal 42, Rahmanullah Gurbaz 41; Arshdeep Singh 3/45, Gurnoor Brar 3/60).
