Retaliating to the recent attacks on the security forces by NSCN-K, the Assam Rifles and the Territorial Army stationed at Noklak town, Tuensang laid an ambush at a group of NSCN-K cadres on Sunday morning.
Sources informed that the security force personnel attacked the NSCN-K cadres when the latter was resting in a paddy field near Wonsoi village. The firing, according to the sources, lasted for more than an hour, however no casualty was reported from both sides.
The NSCN-K cadres, 8 of them, came to Wonsoi village on Saturday but the villagers and the council members apprised them of the situation and told them to leave the village. The cadres left the village around 4 am on Sunday. Four of the cadres, who reported came from Myanmar, where armed while the remaining four were unarmed, according to sources.
