Dimapur, April 9 (EMN): The Dimapur Angling Competition 2017 organised by Dimapur District Anglers’ Association (DDAA) in collaboration with Musu Angling Club, Hoito village was successfully held on April 8 at Musu Angling Club.
Shilu Aier emerged as the champion and received a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 along with certificate. Sujit Sarkar was placed second and walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 along with certificate. Lawrence Humtsoe had to be contented in third position and received Rs. 10,000 as cash prize besides certificate. Lanutemsu Aier and Janal Ahmed stood fourth and fifth respectively and was awarded with rods and reels. Mhonbemo Ngullie won both the categories of Biggest Catch and Biggest Katla and pocketed Rs. 5,000 from each category.
Prizes were given by Akato Chophi, proprietor of Musu Angling Club.
Altogether 85 participants including from Mokokchung participated in the event.
A brief function, chaired by Pilato Sumi, convener of the organising committee, was held before the commencement of the competition. Akheto Chophi, pastor, Hoito Baptist Church prayed for the dedication of Musu Angling Club and also for the competition. Khehovi Chophi, village chief of Hoito village delivered a short speech. Vice president of Anglers Association Nagaland, Mhonbemo Ngullie also exhorted the participants on behalf of AAN.
Miss Ghotoli, associate pastor (youth), Hoito Baptist Church said the invocation prayer for the function.
