Shillong Lajong team arrives in Imphal

Our Correspondent IMPHAL, Sept 2 Finally a 25 member Shillong Lajong team have arrived in Imphal this afternoon for the charity match with the newly formed Manipur Arambai 11 which is scheduled to be held at the Main Stadium football ground of Khuman Lampak on September 5 here. The charity match is being specially organized for the welfare of Wafa Arambai Football Academy. Speaking to reporters on their arrival here, chief coach of Shillong Lajong Thangboi Singto, who hails from Manipur's Churachandpur district said, "We're here to play charity matches in a move to promote football and also to create more awareness on the popular game in the region." The team of Shillong Lajong comprising 25 players including Cornell Glen of Trinidad and Tobago (World Cup Player), Taisuke Matugae of Japan (Japanese I-League) and Min Chon Son of Korea, (J-League Player) who played in World Cup and J-Leagues. S Subash, O Milan Tuboi, Boithang, Angousana, Bipin, Jibon and Sandip, who are originally from Manipur, would also be among the players of Shillong Lajong.
