Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) conducted a State Level Bankers Sub-Committee on SHG Bank Linkage-cum-Workshop on June 27 in the conference hall of SIRD.
The meeting was chaired by Commissioner & Secretary RD, V. Sakhrie, who is also the chairperson of SLBC Sub-Committee. The meting was attended by senior level officers from SBI and NABARD and Branch Managers from Kohima District.
The resource persons were from the National Mission Management Unit, NRLM, Rajan Babu, National Mission Manager and Sourav Roy, Mission Manager.
The objectives and bank linkages and roles of NSRLM were clearly explained and presented in power point presentation by the Ministry of Rural Development team.
The resource persons emphasized on NSRLM as being a demand side and banks as supply side, while they also advised the bankers to avail the opportunities of business venture with the NSRLM in the interest of poor and at the same time avail benefit through interest subvention. The meeting also discussed various issues with the bankers to facilitate the SHGs.
Meanwhile, it has been informed that the Mission will sponsor exposure visits for all the resource block bankers to project sites in Andhra Pradesh, for which the date and time will be initiated by SMD, State Rural Livelihood Mission.
It may also be mentioned that a Refresher Course was conducted by NMMU/MoRD for the Block teams of State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM), Nagaland, for imparting soft skills on communication and facilitations at ATI Kohima. Simultaneously, a Management Information System (MIS) Refresher Training was held for the District Teams by SRLM/SMMU.
