DIMAPUR — The Shamator Town Students’ Union (STSU) held a joint meeting with Shamator district sports associations on June 18.
The various bodies represented were football, athletics, volleyball, boxing, chess, wushu, sepaktakraw, taekwondo, badminton, and table tennis, according to an update. They deliberated on working collectively under the banner of the Shamator District Sports Association.
Furthermore, the assembly discussed fostering cordial relations among the associations and organising sports events annually.
The associations expressed dismay over the lack of available coaches and financial support across various sports disciplines in the district. They resolved to formally present these grievances to the relevant departments and the state government at the earliest opportunity.
