DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 23
The Sumi Hoho ‘declared’ on Friday that various statements issued by the individuals, ‘minor organizations’ and local based organizations on the Framework Agreement signed between the government of India and the NSCN(IM) are not the opinions of the Sumi people and have nothing to do with the Sumi people.
The Sumi Hoho said that Friday’s press statement ‘ is to clear all air of confusions’ arising due to the press statements issued by the ‘self vested interest’ individuals, minor organizations and local based organizations expressing their endorsement to the August 3, 2015 Peace Accord (Framework Agreement) signed between Government of India (GoI) and the NSCN (IM).
According to the statement, in the Sumi Baghi Hoho (General Public Meeting) dated September 3, 2015, the Sumi Baghi resolved to revoke the abrogation of relationship imposed upon the NSCN (IM).
The Sumi Baghi Hoho also reiterated the August 23, 2015 press statement that the Sumi people are neither in favour nor against the Peace Accord signed on August 3, 2015 between the GoI and the NSCN (IM) until such time the contents of the Accord is made known to the public.
The Sumi Hoho also affirmed that revocation of abrogation of relationship does not necessarily meant to support the Accord until and unless “all the Nagaland Political Groups and stakeholders inclusively participate and involve in Naga Peace Talk”.
“The Sumi Baghi Hoho further affirmed that on the issues pertaining to the Sumi people as a whole, except the Sumi Hoho, no other organization or individual shall issue press statement”, it added. “These resolutions adopted by the Sumi Baghi Hoho is effective and in place in all the Sumi inhabited areas irrespective of geographical locations,” the statement said.
