Seyochung Village Students’ Union appeals to reconsider transfer of teacher
Seyochung Village Students’ Union has appealed to the state government to retain one graduate teacher who was transferred even without completing one year of service at Government High School
- DIMAPUR — The
Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) has appealed to the state government
to retain one graduate teacher (GT), who was transferred even without
completing one year of service at Government High School (GHS) in Seyochung
village.
- In a letter to the principal director of School Education
through the district education officer, the union stated that Thripongchum
Sangtam was transferred to GHS Seyochung village from GMS Yangsekyu village on
February 28, 2024, through an order of the government of Nagaland, Directorate
of School Education. To the surprise of the union, he was transferred again to
GHS Phisami on February 6, 2025, before even completing a year at his new
posting.
- The union stated that the abrupt transfer has disrupted the
academic environment of the school as his experience and teaching skills have
positively contributed to the students’ education.
- Given the shortage of experienced teachers in the village,
the union sincerely requested the government to reconsider the transfer order
and retain Thripongchum Sangtam at GHS Seyochung village for the benefit of the
students and smooth functioning of the school.
