DIMAPUR — The Seyochung Area Students' Union (SASU) condemned the use of the term "Sangtam" in recent media reports by Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students' Union (ENSSU) federating units in connection with the removal of ENSSU placards at SASU headquarters, Seyochung town.
SASU, in a press statement, clarified that no organisation named "Seyochung Area Sangtam Students’ Union" exists either in the Seyochung area or under the United Sangtam Students' Conference (USSC).
The union said that propagation of such a name spreads falsehoods and causes unnecessary public confusion and misunderstanding.

SASU demanded that those responsible issue an immediate public clarification. It asserted that all official complaints or communications concerning the region must be directed to the Seyochung Area Students' Union, the sole authority in the area.
The union also challenged any entity claiming to be the "Seyochung Area Sangtam Students’ Union" to appear before its office without delay to provide clarification.
SASU reaffirmed its mission to uphold unity, identity, and peaceful coexistence of all communities in the area and urged all parties to stop such misrepresentations and exercise due diligence in their communications.
