Patkai Christian College Model United Nation (PCCMUN) and CAN Youth (community avenue network) have jointly organised day-long community concern and service day on February 27 at Amaluma village under Dhansiripar sub-division, Dimapur.
The programme was led by Samuel Walling, secretary CAN Youth, and Chingthiankim Simte, president PCCMUN. The team interacted with teaching staff, school management committee, village council, GBs and parents of GMS Amaluma.
In the interactive session, discussion was held on development of the school and its education system with the aim to bring about good governance by the village council and the School Management Committee (SMC). During the discussion, teacher in-charge also raised concern on irregularities of teachers and shortage of teaching staff.
Responding to queries from the members, the joint team stressed on joint efforts to bring about changes in the education system. After interaction hour, the team organized some fun activities with the students and distributed gifts and stationeries which were contributed by Patkai Christain College MUN.
The daylong programme ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Thangnodao Naiding, Chairman of School Management Committee.
Meanwhile, CAN Youth expressed gratitude to Patkai Christian College Model United Nation Team, who came forward to organise the community concern and service day and for showing concern for the children and adolescents of GMS Amaluma. CAN Youth also acknowledged the Amaluma Village Council, School Management Committee, teaching staff of GMS Amaluma and the parents for their cooperation and support. CAN Youth also requested students/ youth to do the same initiative to know the grass roots issues.
