Dimapur, Dec. 17: Department of Sericulture, on December 15, inaugurated the newly constructed conference hall coinciding with its annual conference of Sericulture Officers’ and staff (TECH) with the Parliamentary Secretary of Sericulture, Home Guards & Civil Defence, EE Pangteang, as the chief guest. He also unveiled the epitaph of the new conference hall.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest expressed his gratitude to the department stating that it was a long felt cherished dream for the department. He said the conference hall occupies a place of pride in every department which serves all important activities thereby becoming a focal point and an ideal platform for healthy interface among the stakeholders especially with the farmers through seminars and training.
He also hoped that the new conference hall would be able to translate the objectives of the department’s schemes and programmes into reality. He congratulated the Director and his officers and staff for their sincerity and dedicated work on the successful completion of the hall on time.
Director, Chandan Basera, delivered the keynote address, while the Joint Director, Chubameren, delivered the welcome address. Associate pastor of Peniel Church, offered a dedicatory prayer, while the Deputy Director, Mhathung Kikon, proposed vote of thanks. Chubatsur Jamir presented special number.
