Dimapur, June 28 (EMN): A seminar on Nagaland Health Project was held on June 27 in the Chief Medical Officer’s conference hall in Dimapur.

Speaking at the programme, Dr. Vizole Soukhrie, Project Director of Nagaland Health Project, introduced the project to the members and gave a gist on the project’s objectives which is to supplement, strengthen and assist the existing State health service delivery system. He urged the district authority to identify and train the right persons for the right assignment.
Dr. Atoshe Sema, Additional Project Director-NHP, and Dr. Thomas Keppen, M&E Officer- NHP, as resource persons sensitised the members on the objectives and programme implementation activities of Nagaland Health Project.
Dr. Atoshe Sema informed that the objective of NHP is to improve the health services and increase their utilisation by communities which also envisioned at improving the health system services delivery by investing in multiple areas such as enhance communitisation, water sanitation, solar energy, supply chain management, capacity building etc. He further stated that the project also envisioned strengthening the community involvement in improving access to healthcare and improving health and nutrition outcomes.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Anotly, Deputy Chief Medical Officer. Other officials who attended the programme included Dr. K Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer; Abino Khate, district facilitator; and various district programme pfficers under CMO, Dimapur.
