DIMAPUR — Chümoukedima were through to the final of the Senior Men's Inter-District One Day Tournament 2024 by beating Dimapur in the semi-final match on Monday at Nagaland Cricket Ground.

Opting to field first after winning the toss, Chümoukedima restricted Dimapur to a modest total of 97 runs for loss of nine wickets in the first semi-finals, thanks to their disciplined bowling.

An update from Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) informed that Jonathan Rongsen's unbeaten knock of 53 runs helped Chümoukedima chased down Dimapur’s target with nine wickets in hand, and secured a spot in the finals.

In the second semi-finals between Niuland and Kohima played at Sovima Cricket Ground, Niuland scored a competitive102 runs for loss of nine wickets, with Vayu Haralu contributing a crucial 24 runs.

In the run chase, Kohima fell short of the target by 48 runs, thus conceding defeat to Niuland in the crucial match. Monu Kumar's impressive three wickets for just nine runs, help Niuland seal the game in their favour.

Chümoukedima and Niuland districts, which were curved out of then undivided Dimapur in 2021, will clash in the final of the prestigious title.
