The Nagaland Senior Citizens Association (NSCA) in its executive meeting held on January 12 had a detailed discussions on various aspects prevalent in the state and decided to press the respective authorities in whose domain the matters are pending for execution or implementation.
In a press note, the NSCA said that taking cognizance of the fluid condition of the rules prevailing in the State, the Director General of Police, Nagaland had given the direction to set up AEC & QRT by all the respective districts, Superintends of Police and Deputy Commissioners to check the situation from further aggravation. “This motive was perhaps to assuage the feelings and despairs of the people in general and unfortunate victims in particular. Six months has lapsed already but its implementation is yet to see the light of the day and its obvious that more and more troubles and sufferings it will bring it left unattended,” it stated.
The NSCA, ‘on behalf of the elders of Nagaland’ beseeched the concerned SPs and DCs to ensure that the proposed AECs & QRTs are established forthwith in the interest of all citizens as enunciated and in compliance of the DGP’s directive given in September 14, 2015.
