Senior Citizen Home inaugurated at Rüsoma

The home, which currently has five elderly persons, is run by Suna Service Society of the village. In her brief address, Sema lauded the society for opening a home for the elderly persons of the society and encouraged the gathering citing the difference between Mother Teresa and Osama Bin Laden. She said that both of them were highly qualified and educated persons, but Mother Teresa worked for the welfare and uplift of the downtrodden while Laden had a destructive mind. She told the gathering to use education and knowledge for betterment and not as destructive force. She also expressed hope that the society would continue to take up such charitable work. The director was accompanied by the district welfare officer Sataho Chakhesang and CDPO Tribal Affairs, James. They also exhorted the gathering at the programme. Seyievilie, managing director of Suna Service Society, Rüsoma who chaired the inaugural programme, informed that the Home is open to all elders who need support. VC Rüsoma village, Siekuolie Mezhier also extended greetings on the occasion. The programme commenced with senior pastor of Rüsoma Baptist Church Kholie Chase pronouncing invocation prayer while special number was presented by Thepfuneituo and Zapusatuo, administrator Zeneizolie Zacharia tendered the vote of thanks and Catechist of St. Stephen’s Church Rüsoma Neisiezolie Cyril offered benediction.
