Dimapur May 12 (EMN): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, K Medon Angami passed away on May 11 at Zion Hospital in Dimapur after a brief illness.
He is stated to have served the party for 18 years in various capacities.
He was the president of BJP Dimapur district from 2000-2003, president of Kisan State from 2003-2006, state executive member of the party from 2006-2009, state BJP vice president from 2009-2012, and national executive member from 2012-2015.
He was serving as the state BJP core committee member from 2015, BJP office construction committee convenor from 2014, and BJP disciplinary action committee convener from 2016 till his last breath.
State BJP: The BJP of Nagaland is grieved at the untimely demise of a senior party leader, K Medom on May 11.
Lamenting over the loss of its leader, the party said the vacuum created by his demise would be hard to be filled.
“His presence as a pillar of strength, his suggestions, advices and contributions in various ways that he could muster during times of difficulties that the party had faced will be etched in the memories of the party workers and be an example to the young party workers,” the party said.
The party expressed tha Medom will be fondly remembered as a party leader who had been affable, kind, jocular, friendly to the party workers and of course, a leader who used to be grumpy sometimes during the course of his duty in several posts and responsibilities of the party he had held.
The party workers of the state BJP bade their last good bye with fond memories of time and shared experiences.
It also offered prayers for the departed soul and the bereaved family members.
BJYM: The state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has expressed sadness over the sudden demise of K Medom Angami.
In a condolence message, on behalf of party, BJYM state general secretary said the party extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and strength to the bereaved family members.
NCSU: The Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) of Dimapur unit is saddened to learn about the demise of its advisor, K Medom.
The union said Medom was a man with humble nature, graceful and an inspiration to many.
The NCSU added that his death was a loss not only to family relatives and Angami community but to the whole Naga society.
The union extended condolences to the bereaved family and paryed for the bereaved family and the decease.
