KOHIMA, OCTOBER 29 : The Sendenyu Community Conservation of Sendenyu village, under Kohima district, has been selected the winner of the annual Balipara Foundation Awards for 2016.
The formal award ceremony will take place on November 9 in Guwahati at Vivanta By Taj, Khanapara during the Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum.
The award comes with a citation, cash reward and support from the Balipara Foundation for future initiatives to conserve and preserve the natural heritage of the eastern Himalayas.
The Balipara Foundation is a not-for-profit NGO with an objective to supporting both ‘human and ecologically-conscious economic’ development through learning initiatives. It also seeks to unlock nature’s capital in food, water, energy, and biodiversity.
