Sendenyu residents undertake social work

Dimapur, Aug. 7 (EMN): Sendenyu Youth Organisation (SYO) and Sendenyu Lojvü Students’ Union (SLSU) conducted a combined social work at Sendenyu wildlife biodiversity conservation area on August 6.

An update from the two organisations stated that a total of 44 members including its with executive members, GBs and forest guards took part in clearing the trekking route from the biodiversity gate to Parashen.

It stated that Sendenyu village has been conserving the area for more than 22 years. It has strictly prohibited hunting, fishing and deforestation inside the protected area as well as within the entire village jurisdiction.

The SYO and SLSU cautioned any individual from the village or outside of the village against violating the laws stating that defaulters would be penalised as per the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

The SYO and SLSU further sought cooperation of every right-thinking citizen from its community and also from the neighbouring villages to continue their support in their effort to protect and preserve the natural resources for the future generations.
