Sendenyu Community Ecotourism Board, Kenono Foundation sign agreement
The Sendenyu Community Ecotourism Board (SCEB) and the Kenono Foundation have entered into an agreement to jointly develop and manage the Sendenyu Community Responsible Tourism Initiative

Representatives from the Sendenyu Community, Kenono
Foundation, and others during the Ecotourism Destination Centre, New Sendenyu
village in Kohima, on Tuesday.
- DIMAPUR — The Sendenyu Community Ecotourism
Board (SCEB) and the Kenono Foundation have entered into an agreement to
jointly develop and manage the Sendenyu Community Responsible Tourism
Initiative (SCRTI).
- An update mentioned that the agreement was formally signed
on Tuesday at the Ecotourism Destination Centre, New Sendenyu village, on the
theme “Nature educates, tourism inspires, and leadership transforms”, in the
presence of leaders and representatives from the four Village Councils, frontal
organisations, and churches under Sendenyu Lojvu, as well as officials and
invitees from the Kenono Foundation and CRBC.
- Delivering key addresses, Gwasinlo Thong, chairman of SCEB,
and Rev. Haiwalo Apon, chairman of the Kenono Foundation, emphasised the
significance of this partnership in promoting responsible tourism,
conservation, and community leadership.
- The agreement was formally signed by both parties, with
representatives from the Sendenyu Baptist Church, Sendenyu Chipwen Union, and
the Sendenyu Community Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation Board witnessing
the process.
- A certificate of collaboration was issued during the event,
formally recognising the commitment of SCEB and the Kenono Foundation to
promoting biodiversity education and conservation awareness, creating an
environment for counselling and leadership development, advancing responsible
tourism for conscious citizenship, and strengthening community leadership and
capacity-building.
