[caption id="attachment_220951" align="aligncenter" width="565"] Participants along with officials after the seminar on girl child held on Nov. 30.[/caption] Dimapur, Nov. 30 (EMN): The Wokha district administration in collaboration with the Lotha Eloe Hoho (Lotha Women’s Organisation), social welfare department and the medical department organised a programme aimed at sensitising the public on the issue concerning the education and health of the girl child at Riphyim Old village under Wokha district. The programme, which was conducted under the sponsorship Beti Bachao Bet Padhao (BBBP) Scheme 2018, had the president of the Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) president, Zuchobeni Ezong; the Sr. Supervisor, CDPO office, Wokha Erenbeni; and psychologist NCTP, Abeni T. Kikon as the resource persons. The EAC of Englang administrative circle, Echungbemo Erui, while addressing the programme, dwelled on the importance of the BBBP scheme in empowering the girl child and urged the parents to give equal opportunity to both the male and female child, be it in education or any other field. While calling on the need to give effort in empowering the girl child, the EAC appealed the gathering to spread awareness on the BBBP scheme. Around 170 people participated in the seminar, DIPR said in a statement. Sanitary kits/pack were also distributed at the function.
