John Parankimalil speaking at the teachers seminar in Dimapur on March 10.[/caption]   Dimapur, March 13 (EMN): A seminar for six Catholic Schools’ teachers on the theme “Becoming a teacher today” was held on March 10 at Holy Cross Auditorium, Dimapur. Dr. Fr. John Parankimalil and Principal of Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura, was the resource person. Around three hundred and fifty teachers from Holy Cross HSS, St. Clare HSS, Assisi HSS, St. Marys HSS Padampukhri, St. Paul HSS and Don Bosco HSS actively participated at the seminar. The resource person ignited the minds and inspired the hearts of the teachers. Some of the inspiring statements reiterated by him were: “If you want your name to be written among the stars – write it in the hearts of students because they are simply good.” “Education is to wake up the life,” “Education is the most powerful weapon which can be used to change the world” (Nelson Mandela), “If the child misbehaves, there is a problem,” “Children are basically good but they are the product of the situation/background,” “I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration.” The seminar was well appreciated by the participants. The teachers were inspired and re-fuelled to continue their noble task of moulding and shaping the lives of students entrusted to their care.
