Nagaland Police destroyed seized NDPS worth INR 36.57 crore, including heroin, opium and ganja, at Kohima.

DIMAPUR — The Drug Disposal Committee (DPC) for State-Level Police Stations PHQ disposed of seized Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) confiscated by the Court of the Special Judge NDPS, Kohima, at Kohima dumping site, Meriema, on May 16.
According to a DIPR report, SP (N&P) and member DPC for State-Level Police Stations, Poolicharla Ramanaiah, said the committee approved the disposal and destruction of 24 NDPS cases, which included eight kg heroin, 31 kg opium, 370 kg ganja, and other LDPA substances such as Ramadol and matter of nitrogen worth approximately INR 36.57 crore.

The disposal of seized NDPS was carried out by the DPC after verification of the court order and physical verification, and following logistical arrangements made as per the prescribed procedure.
The disposal was carried out in the presence of DIG (CID) and Chairman DPC T Chumrenthung; SP (Crime) and member DPC Dr. Mhalo Ezung; EAC Headquarters (magistrate) Kwriethozo; Assistant Director, Kripa Foundation Kohima, Khyuchamo P Ezung; and Keduoneilie, DB.
