Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): A body suspected to be ULFA (I) insurgent, who was involved in the encounter with Army on Sep. 24, was recovered from Burhi Dihing River near South Tekri on Sep. 27.Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): A body suspected to be ULFA (I) insurgent, who was involved in the encounter with Army on Sep. 24, was recovered from Burhi Dihing River near South Tekri on Sep. 27. The body was found with the help of local fishermen and the search parties of Army. Live grenades and magazines filled with ammunition were found on the dead body, PRO (Defence) stated. As per initial reports from the sources, the recovered body is suspected to be Rudreshwar Baruah @ Jan Asom.
“Jan Asom was recruited to ULFA (I) in 2013 and since then was actively involved in criminal activities including extortion, kidnapping, killing of security personnel and innocent civilians. He was likely to have been also involved in the killing of OC of Bordumsha
Police Station on May 4,” the update stated. The search of second insurgent who is suspected to be injured in the encounter is still in progress. He is likely to be Babul Moran @ Tiger Asom. Security Forces are also searching the rest insurgents who had fled to reserve forest areas.
