The Tulihal company of the 5th Battalion of the Jammu & Kashmir Rifles organised a daylong medical camp on Jan. 17 under the aegis of the 9th sector Assam Rifles and the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (south) at Azad English Medium School in Maitram.
A press release issued by the IGAR on Jan. 19 mentioned that approximately 200 students and 20 teachers of the school were examined during the camp and were provided with prescription as well as free medicines.
The medical officer is also said to have educated students about good habits and that they take precautions for good health and hygiene.
The school’s authorities were extremely grateful to the unit for this earnest endeavour and requested for more such camps in near future for benefit of the students as well as the community, stated the release.
Treats a patient at Joupi: Joupi Batallion under aegis of IGAR (South) yet again served as last resort in remote area of Joupi wherein inhabitants are dependent on Assam Rifles for emergency medical aid.
The release mentioned that on Jan. 18 a villager of Joupi brought, Haolal Mate (35 years) came to AR around 11: 30 am with severe electric burn injury.
The unit’s medical team sensing the emergency stabilized the victim and referred him to Sugnu PHC for further medical treatment, stated the release.
Financial planning fair: The 26th Assam Rifles of the 9th sector AR under the aegis of IGAR (south) organised a ‘forward area meet’ conducted by a team of SBI agents at Chandrakhong Company Operating Base on Jan. 17 for a ‘financial planning’ event for villagers.
The event is said to have witnessed enthusiastic participation of approximately 120 villagers who were educated upon various aspects of financial planning and government welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Kisan account, etc.
Cleanliness drive at Yairipok: In continuation to its community centric efforts revolving around the concept of Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, a cleanliness drive was organised at Yaripok by Yairipok company operating base of the 26th Assam Rifles, 9th sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of the IGAR (south) on Jan. 16 which was a joint venture between the civil population and the troops.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 80 villagers and children.
The drive was followed by a lecture upon the idea of ‘Clean Environment and Healthy Life’, stated the release.
