Security forces arrest one person with arms, seizes liquor

Dimapur, Dec. 13 (EMN): Assam Rifles of Spear Corps along with the state police representative arrested one person with arms in a joint operation near Thilixu village, Dimapur, on Dec. 11.

According to a defence release issued by PRO (Def.), Lt. Col. Sumit K Sharma, the arrested person is suspected to be a cadre of NSCN (Khango). The joint team recovered one AK-47 rifle with two magazines, one 303 rifle and 61 live rounds of 303 rifle.

The release further stated that the arrested person along with the recovered items have been handed over to Diphupar Police Station, for further investigation.

In a separate incident, the Assam Rifles along with the state police representative seized liquor at Jotsoma junction in Kohima district on Dec. 11.

A defence release stated that the joint team seized 701 cases of liquor worth an approximate amount of 51.30 lakh. It added that two persons were arrested in the connection.

It further stated that the arrested persons along with the recovered items have been handed over to the North Police Station in Kohima for further investigation.
