Security Forces apprehend NSCN (K) worker in Arunachal

Dimapur, July 11 (EMN): In a series of intense operations on underground outfits, the Jairampur Battalion under the aegis of DAO division conducted a successful operation in Kharsang village on July 10. Based on specific intelligence about the presence of a person in Kharsang market involved in extortion activities, the battalion swiftly launched an operation in conjunction with Assam Police and apprehended an NSCN (K) cadre with numerous blank extortion notes stated Colonel C Konwer PRO (Defence) in a press note. Post spot interrogation the cadre was identified as Chankap Mossang. The cadre has been actively supporting NSCN (K) activities and has been conducting extortion and recruitment for the group in Miao circle. The cadre was previously an active with NSCN (R) and had been apprehended by Assam Rifles in 2015. He confessed to having extorted money from a junior engineer in Miao on July 7.
