Dimapur, Nov. 12 (EMN): A free medical camp was organized by the 28th Assam Rifles under the aegis of headquarters of the 5th sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), at Pongitong village and its surrounding villages, in Wokha district.
The medical camp was conducted to provide medical support and assistance to the villagers especially to the aged and women who are unable to go to hospitals which are normally far away. A total 162 civilians benefitted from the camp, updates informed on Monday.
Free medicines were provided in addition to educating the affected people on the importance of timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation. The medical camp was appreciated by the local populace and had requested if similar camps with specialist doctors could be conducted in other villages in future.
