Dimapur, Nov. 28 (EMN): Members of the joint associations forum (JAF), a group of government workers, have announced their second-phase of agitation in the form of availing three days’ mass casual leave, from December 2.
In a letter addressed to the chief secretary, the forum informed that the mass casual leave would be followed by the third phase of agitation: “indefinite pen down, tools down and computers shutdown” from December 5 till the protestors’ demand were met.
They are demanding implementation of the ROP recommendations of Pay Anomalies Committee (PAC).
“It is to state that the intense phase of agitation shall be partially relaxed for the essential services like the prison and nurses who deals with human lives, not that it has been lenient in its approach, but in order not to put human lives at risk. However, those affected shall continue to show their resentment by wearing black badges on duties. Relaxation may be called off anytime if situation so demands in due course of time,” it stated.
Also, the forum instructed all its constituent associations to strictly monitor and ‘take action as deemed fit on any erring members’.
