Our Correspondent KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 12 Coinciding with its 23rd day celebration, the Tsurü colony of Sechü Zubza village inaugurated a morung on February 10 which was graced by Mhasikhotuo Zhünyü, chairman, Sechü Zubza Village Council (SZVC), as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the SZVC chairman lauded the colony residents for their efforts in constructing the much needed morung, which he said is a symbol of unity and oneness.“Establishing a morung is the first step to move ahead and towards integrity,” Zhünyü said while recalling the days of our forefathers where a morung is considered as a “centre of learning”. He advised the colony residents to respect and uphold the sanctity of the morung as our forefathers did in the past, and further urged them to use it as a platform where young and old people come together to educate and learn from one another. Stating that setting up the morung has shown and depicted the unity and strength of the colony populace, Zhünyü also expressed hope that they will continue to contribute in a larger way even in the future, keeping in mind the greater interest of the village at large. The plot for the newly inaugurated morung was donated by Kevise Khawakhrie in memory of his mother. The inaugural programme was chaired by Sacha Rhatsu, Head G.B. Sechü Zubza, while the invocation was pronounced by Neizolie Sekhose, deacon, CRC Sechü Zubza.
