Dimapur, July 13 (EMN): Sub-Divisional Officer (civil) Jakhama has a joint coordination meeting with departments and stakeholders regarding Dzükou valley and its related activities at its office on July 13 in Jakhama.
According to DPRO report received here on Friday, the meeting was held to discuss the management of Dzükou and to provide regulatory guidelines so that tourists / trekkers do not get lost.
During the meeting, the members present have adopted three agendas-tourists will be able to access southern Dzükou through Jakhama and Viswema route only; blanket ban on hunting activities; and to set up Dzukoü management committee. It also informed that it will bring out a blueprint with consultations of all stakeholders.
The meeting also deliberated on fresh trail mapping of routes alongwith stakeholders, identification of spots with phone signal and the mandatory use of guides by tourists from outside the state etc. Concerns relating to the maintenance and improvement of infrastructures and services available were also taken up with the department of Tourism, it informed.
The meeting was convened by the SDO AT THE, Jakhama and attended by DDMO Kohima, officials from department of Tourism and Forest, EAC Kezocha, Southern Angami Public Organization, Southern Angami and other stakeholders.
