Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): The Alpine Open Scouts and Guides unit conducted its annual summer camp from June 25 to 29 at the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides Training Centre, Nerhema.
Altogether 63 Scouts and Guides, Rovers and Rangers from the unit attended the camp. The camp was conducted under the leadership of Imlisünep, Scout Master of the unit and assisted by Sashikala Jamir, Ranger leader.
Various competitions such as colour party, march past, flag procedure, camp craft, folk song, folk dance, district exhibition etc were organised during the camp.
The inaugural programme was graced by John Tochimong, State Organising Commissioner (Scout) NSBSG, and Vimezhonu, State Organising Commissioner (Guide) NSBSG, on June 26. Vimezhonu exhorted the Scouts and Guides followed by march past by the different groups namely Mt. Japfü group, Mt. Tiyi group, Mt. Pauna group and Mt. Saramati group.
A song was presented by Manpei Konyak, Rover Scout, followed by the declaration of the camp open by John Tochimong.
The grand campfire was conducted on June 28 where Khriesanyü Pienyü, District Organising Commissioner (Scout), graced the programme as the grand campfire chief.
