Kohima, Dec. 14. (EMN): The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts & Guides (NSBS&G) are all set to celebrate their golden jubilee at the State Training Center at Phezha in Nerhema under Kohima district. The jubilee will be celebrated with the theme ‘one world, one goal’ on Fri.
556 scouts and guides, besides officials from various districts have arrived on Thur. to celebrate the organisation’s 50th anniversary.
As a part of the celebration, a reunion of the scouts and guides took place on Thur. evening. P Atuo Mezhiir Sekhose, chief commissioner, exhorted the gathering. He urged the trainers to teach the scouts and guides to be more responsible. The organisation is respected when its members are in uniform and people look to them for help, Sekhose said. He called upon all the heads of institutions of schools in the state to help the scout and guide movement, a worldwide movement. Sekhose informed that he will be visiting all the district units by next year. He expressed hope to open more units.
On Fri. morning at 9:40 pm, Nagaland governor and Chief Patron of the NSBSG PB Acharya will be the chief guest of the inaugural programme. At 3.00pm the closing program will be held at the same venue with Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, former chief minister, as the chief guest.
