Dimapur, Oct. 12 (EMN): A science exhibition on the theme ‘technologies for a clean environment’ was conducted at St. John’s Hr. Sec. School, Tuensang with the commandant of 40 Assam Rifles, Col. Samrat Sengupta as a special guest.
Speaking on the occasion Col. Sengupta encouraged the students to cultivate the habit of learning by doing and be inquisitive as books alone do not encompass the entirety of education. He also expressed satisfaction to the management, students and the teachers for choosing such a relevant theme and producing great models for the young generations to live in a clean Environment. He further urged all the school to take initiative to conduct such kind of programmes.
Students from Classes 9 to 12 participated in the exhibition. All together there were 11 models.
At the inauguration programme Rev. Fr. Sivi George, Principal, St. John’s welcomed the guests and asked the students not to take education from a bookish point of view but to go further and develop creative ideas to bring joy to the neighbourhood. The programme also was attended by students from other schools in town.
