Dimapur, Oct.24 (EMN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has appealed to the government authorities to take early action to settle the issue of encroachment into Kohima Science College’s land, near capital town Kohima. The students stated that the local authority had prepared a report but the administration was unable to go ahead as it was waiting for directives from the chief minister’s office.
The union issued on Wednesday a copy of a letter that was addressed to the chief minister of Nagaland.
The organisation repeated its appeal to the government to take serious note of the land encroachment issue and settle it on priority.
The organisation referred to a representation that it said was submitted to the government. ‘The ANCSU has appealed your esteemed authority to expedite the Kohima Science College Jotsoma land encroachment issue and settle it amicably. Accordingly sir, your good office has responded positively on 15th August 2018 in local dailies to bring out a survey report on KSCJ within six weeks,’ the union stated to the chief minister.
The organisation has been informed by the district’s administration that a “survey report” had been prepared within the stipulated time and had submitted it to the state’s government, the ANCSU stated.
“However sir, despite a month after the submission of report, the district administration is unable to go ahead awaiting the directive from the state government i.e., the chief minister’s office. Therefore, while acknowledging the state government for having heard to the students’ grievances, the ANCSU once again appeal your esteemed authority to seriously take into consideration the issue and give necessary directives to the district administration for early settlement of the issue,” the group stated.
The ANCSU has expressed optimism that ‘unlike the bygone years, the state government will not shy away from delivering justice to the students’ community without any delay tactics.’
