
Dimapur: A month-long free football training under ‘School of Football’ kicked-started on March 25 at Diphupar A ground, 4th Mile, Chümoukedima district.
Around 150 young Naga players ranging from six to 23 years of age have registered for the free training, an update informed.
The training camp is organised by Kivi Zhimomi, the first Naga player in the Indian Super League (ISL), first Naga player to score in Hero I-league and to be called up for Indian U-23 Camp for Australian trip.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The ‘School of Football’ is the first of its kind to promote sports and train young minds by local professional football player free of cost.
The school aims to continue as a full-fledged training programme which will begin from the month of May.
“This programme will come with an admission fee, intense training, internship with clubs and certification courses for young football players and also with the aim to promote sports in the state of Nagaland. The School has a good number of young girls who will be seeking training in the field of football,” it stated.
