Dimapur, March 9 (EMN): The week-long sports week of the School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University concluded on Sat. March 9 at the State Stadium in Dimapur.
There were 36 events that witnessed 80-85% participation from the students and employees, stated Ramesh Singh, assistant professor incharge of games and sports in a press release.
The closing ceremony was attended by Commandant of Assam Rifles, K. Devender Singh as the special invitee. In his speech, Singh emphasised that sports is necessary for overall development but education is very important for career point of view. He expressed that role of teachers are important in shaping the future of a nation. He further stated that he got opportunity to serve the nation with the guidance of the teachers in his early days.
The organisers extended gratitude and thanked the Commandant, K. Devender Singh, Prof. S. K. Sharma, Ramesh Singh, Akagjungshi Longkumer, SETSU members, match referees, participants and volunteers for making the annual sports week a grand success.
