The new facility was dedicated by Bishop James Thoppil and inaugurated by Dr. John Murry, treasurer of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, on February 5. The institution issued a press release informing about the event. According to the updates, the bishop addressed the occasion. Bishop James recollected his association with St. Anthony School way back in 1990. He congratulated and thanked the staff and management for the efforts they have put in to give the ‘best education’ to the community. ‘He acknowledged the dedication of the priests, sisters and the parents for working for the welfare of the students. He emphasised on the Catholic education as to make what you are (sic). That is to give light and joy to the community by living the values of the Gospel,’ the press release stated. He was quoted as having asked the gathering: What are we making or living out of our life? In his address, Dr. John Murry congratulated the staff and the management of the school. He was quoted as having said that ‘100 percentage matriculation’ for seven consecutive years are a tremendous success for the school. Murry acknowledged the village’s administration also, ’for the good governance’ and ‘for the constant support for the school.’ He was said to have noted the contribution of the Catholic church in the field of education. Through education, the press release stated, ‘the church modifies the creation of God by becoming an instrument.’ Further, the NDPP urged the assembly to thank and honour the Catholic church ‘for the manifold blessings in the society.’ He encouraged the students to be part of the institution’s success story, and to ‘make use of the opportunities provided in by the church and the school,’ the press release stated. A basketball court also was inaugurated during the programme, the press release added.
