Kohima, March 23 (EMN): A school girl was hit by a taxi early this morning in Kohima. The incident happened at around 9 am when the girl was on her way to attend school, it was informed. She is said to be a student of Modern School, New Market colony in Kohima town.
The 9-year old girl, studying in standard-III, was hit on the hip, sources said. Following the incident, the victim was taken to Naga hospital. Her condition is said to be stable. she was discharged from the hospital later in the afternoon, sources added.
It was reported that no complaint with the police was registered in this regard. The case is also said to have been “settled” with the driver being allowed to go free with his vehicle.
Sources informed that this was done basing on the statement of eye witnesses who claimed that it was not a case of reckless driving. The little girl was said to have carelessly crossed the road as she was getting late for school, sources said.
