Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has asked Governor PB Acharya to intervene and seek the release of the second instalment of scholarship money from the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
In a representation submitted to the governor, ANCSU stated that the ministry has released INR 6,14,00,000 as first instalment of recurring grant-in-aid under the scheme of post-matric scholarship to students belonging to scheduled tribes for the year 2017-2018 to the government of Nagaland.
“However, the remaining required amount is yet to be sanctioned by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs even after submission of SIT report to the ministry concerned on 17th November 2018. Sir, this step-motherly treatment has resulted in serious threat to the academic career of the students and your esteemed self remains the right authority to salvage the students from this trauma. Therefore, we appeal your kind authority to intervene and take necessary action,” it read.
