- DIMAPUR — The
Kohima Transmission Division has announced a scheduled vegetation clearance and
maintenance programme for the 66kV and 132kV transmission lines, set to take
place from April 1 to May 2. The initiative aims to prevent unexpected disruptions
and ensure stable power supply.
- As part of this maintenance drive, total power shutdown from
8 am to 3 pm will take place in certain areas on designated days to facilitate
smooth execution of the work.
- “All consumers and public in the affected areas are
therefore requested to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the
shutdown period,” the department stated in an update on Friday.

- The scheduled power outages will affect different areas at
different times. From April 1 to April 2, the 132 kV Doyang-Sanis transmission
line will undergo maintenance, resulting in a power blackout in Sanis,
Bhandari, Baghty, and Merapani.
- From April 15 to April 19, the 66 kV Kiphire-Tuensang line
will be worked on, leading to power disruptions in Kiphire, Meluri, parts of
Phek district, and LHEP.
- Similarly, from April 21 to April 23, maintenance on the 132
kV Kiphire-Meluri line will cause blackouts in Meluri and parts of Phek
district.
