Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): Salt Christian College of Teacher Education (SCCTE), Dimapur welcomed its fresh students in a programme on Sep. 5 which coincided with the Teachers’ Day celebration at Meren Chapel Hall.
The programme which was organized by the SCCTE Students’ Union (SCCTESU), witnessed an array of activities throughout the day.
The SCCTE Student’s Union General Secretary, Vibovi S. Jimomi, while warmly welcoming the freshers to the family of professionals and shared his gratitude for their presence and contributions towards the success of the programme. He also welcomed the teachers, since it coincided with the Teachers’ Day celebration and paid rich tribute to them.
In forming this in a press release, the Info. and Publicity Secy. of SCCTESU, Dikhu Esalung stated that the college Principal, Dr. M Roy Choudhury expressed her sincere gratitude for organizing the freshers meet and warmly welcomed the freshers and at the same time encouraged the trainees to work hard and bring laurels to the college. While sharing about the college, Choudhury informed that the SCCTE is one of the oldest and first among the many B.Ed colleges in Nagaland.
Speaking on behalf of 1st Sem. trainees as a freshman, Soyingi Odyuo expressed gratitude to the institute for warmly welcoming them and conveyed a message that they will not engage in any kind of malpractice of any manner but will be obedient and work towards bringing honour to the institution.
Senior trainee, Diku Esalung, while addressing the juniors, encouraged them to build better relationships and help each other in their professional journey. He emphasized on the importance of learning from each other as each individual has got own unique talents.
The SCCTESU Asst. games and sports secy. Usha Kumari, presented a token of love and honor to teachers and the freshers after which, Rev.Thebemo Yanthan, campus Chaplin, pronounced a special prayer invoking God’s blessings on the teachers and trainees.
Other highlights of the programme included the presentation of a prayerful musical piece titled “Prayer for You” by Rosalien of 3rd Sem. B.Ed. Daniel Hojai of 1st Sem. and Methnyei Konyak, games and sports secy. SCCTESU, also enthralled the audience with a dance and a melodious Hindi track respectively.
The star attraction of the event was the selection of the Mr. and Miss. Fresher where Daniel Hojai and Jennifer Pashel were declared Mr. and Miss. Freshers’ 2018 .
